Refund & Cancellation Policy
Introduction
Thank you for choosing The Venue by Monique for your private event. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how deposits, payments, cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are handled for private bookings. Please read carefully before confirming your reservation.
1. Deposits & Payments
- To secure a date, a non-refundable deposit is required at booking. The specific deposit amount will be stated in your contract or invoice.
- The deposit is applied toward the total event balance.
- The remaining balance is due by the date indicated in your signed agreement. Failure to pay the balance by that date may result in cancellation and forfeiture of amounts paid.
2. Cancellations
- Cancellation more than 120 days prior to the scheduled event: Eligible for a partial refund of paid amounts, excluding the non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellation between 61–120 days prior: 50% of the remaining paid balance (after deposit) may be refunded, subject to contract terms.
- Cancellation within 60 days of the event date: All payments are non-refundable.
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the venue's management and are effective on the date the venue receives the written notice.
Note: Specific events (e.g., multi-day rentals, holiday weekends, or special packages) may have different cancellation windows; any such differences will be listed in the client contract.
3. Rescheduling
- Clients may request to reschedule once, subject to venue availability.
- Rescheduling requests made more than 90 days before the original event date will have payments transferred to the new date without penalty.
- Rescheduling within 90 days may be subject to a rescheduling fee and/or forfeiture of a portion of the payment depending on availability and additional costs incurred by the venue.
4. Force Majeure (Unforeseeable Circumstances)
If fulfillment of the event is prevented by circumstances beyond either party’s control (including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, public health emergencies, acts of terrorism, or other force majeure events), The Venue by Monique will:
- Work with the client to reschedule the event at no additional venue charge when possible; or
- Offer a venue credit for future use equal to payments made (less any nonrefundable deposit or costs already incurred by the venue), valid for a period specified in your contract.
If an event is cancelable under local law or mandatory government order, we will follow the legally required process for refunds or credits.
5. Refund Processing
- Approved refunds will be issued using the original method of payment.
- Refunds are typically processed within 10–15 business days from the date approval is granted; actual time may vary by payment provider.
6. No-Show & Failure to Perform
A client who fails to appear for the reserved date without prior written notice will forfeit all payments made. If the client arrives late or fails to comply with contract obligations, the venue may charge additional fees or terminate the booking in accordance with the contract.
7. Modifications & Additional Charges
Any requested changes to services, hours, or capacity after signing the contract may incur additional fees. Major changes may affect eligibility for refunds and may be treated as a cancellation if they fundamentally alter the original booking.
8. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises regarding cancellations or refunds, please contact The Venue by Monique immediately so we can work toward a resolution. Specific dispute resolution procedures (mediation, governing law, venue) are set out in the client contract.
